Integral Assessment

Universal Loving Kindness actually set the stage for what needed to be accomplished during my assessment. Looking forward to helping others become free of suffering while leading them toward health, happiness, and wholeness brings me into the human flourishing equation (Dacher2006).

During the assessment process, I discovered the need to progress further toward worldly and interpersonal flourishing. I scanned through my heart and mind and realized the areas of psychospiritual and biological flourishing I do well in.

I am mindful of nutrition and food intake for reasons relating to environmental sustainability, animal cruelty, and physical health. Awareness is not new-found and continues for over 20 years (Dacher 2006).

Psychospiritually speaking, most of my adult life (as a child, unconsciously) has been able to experience the mind-body and soul connectivity. Through different alternative modalities (acupuncture, Network Chiropractic, Reiki, Healing Touch, and mindful meditation) I have seen results of offering unconditional loving kindness both locally and universally.

As time is an illusion, so must the lack of having time be limiting towards accomplishments. Giving of one’s self as a whole, toward another human in need as selfless as is fulfilling. I desire to be more involved within the local community offering assistance where needed the most.

Being all aspects of human flourishing are interconnected, this conscious act will help develop better interpersonal skills, which are required to experience a deep love filled relationship (Dacher 2006).

  1. You are at a point that I can honestly wish I was at. I have to ask what did it feel like as a child being connected like that? Were you ever pressured by parents/guardians to get serious and grow up? I think as children we are open to so much more than adults because as we grow we are pressured to give up the connection to our other aspects and only face the real world. After reading your post, I know as a mother that I am going to try and relax with my children and let them have their special connection to the universe. It leaves so quickly if we do not embrace it. Thank you.

  2. This assessment looks like it worked well for you, congrats. It also helped me realize what I need to work on and what I already flourish in. I found it interesting that unless I can at least acknowledge what I’m underdeveloped in I cannot move forward towards flourishing. Without knowing all the aspects and where we stand with each one, we cannot truly move forward. Just by taking a few moments each day to try to become better in an underdeveloped aspect will help. That is great you want to be more involved with your community. Good luck and I wish you well.

  3. That is great that the exercise helped to set the stage for the assignment. It does create a good feeling creating the need to want to others toward health, happiness, and wholeness. I think that everyone struggles with a lack of time, I know I do. There are so many areas that I wish I could give more time to, like volunteering in the community but I barely have time for my main priorities. It sounds like you are on a good path to human flourishing which is great.
